About Born in Delmas Mpumalanga as Bimini Monde Nyakale, “Bimz” is a South African rapper that grew up in Polokwane. He started making music in 2010 at the age of 13. What inspired his passion was a story his mother told him about an older biological brother that he never knew he had. With a sound that’s fit for every feeling, any moment and any person, the 24 year old constantly pushes artistic boundaries by incorporating catchy melodies, banging 808s and a touch of afro-soul topped off with old school bars modern enough to be relatable.
Before the music, he wanted to become a fire fighter but the desire to live out his musical dream grew greater by the day. His oldest brother, the late Michael Mpandla passed away a week before getting signed to a prominent record label when he was just 15 years old. The news of this tragedy marked the beginning of a new legacy. Today Bimz dedicates his life to making music that’s not just going to last for a brief moment but wraps every melody and lyric around every moment that a valued listener experiences from time to time.
His latest release titled “2019” is a glimpse of what the future holds. He’s heavily invested in perfecting his expertise in the industry by constantly working on his 2020/2021 catalog and producing songs for other proficient artists. His recent work is with his younger brother, Collin-Grimm where he features on a song titled “Lane”. With 11 years into it, the story continues to progress and unfold.
