Mercy Iconic With An Iconic Project

Interview Questions

SA MUSIC PROMO –

What is the Mbilu series about?

Mercy Iconic –

The “series” as described above is a narrative of which a man from a different world falls in love with an earthling that is based on Earth, South Africa. Each instrumental is created to emphasise the musical brilliance that South African music stands for as it continues to evolve as me the concept of the story also emphasis the basis of evolution.

SA MUSIC PROMO –

What was the reason behind the Theme of the album?1

Mercy Iconic –

I chose to go with a Sci-Fi approach on each album to just step out of the box of normality and dive deep into a “ what would music sound like if it was South African inspired and it had a touch of outer space”. I have always been a science fiction fanatic when growing.

I enjoyed watching movies such as Star Wars, Stat trek and further dabbled a lot in video games that promoted the same type of concepts.

SA MUSIC PROMO –

What truly inspired you to make it about a man attempting to find a woman?

Mercy Iconic –

The biggest inspiration for me, is the act of love through a long distance relationship. This I would say had been a very repetitive theme in my life and is the main reason why I chose the names on the album.

SA MUSIC PROMO –

Which is your favourite instrumental track?

Mercy Iconic –

My favourite song I would say on the instrumental album would be Last night which would be the second track on the Soundloud release numbering, reason being if you listen to the album sequential, from the intro into the the second song, I would say that I picture Mr Iconic performing a midnight sky dive in the depths of a star infested sky (wink wink, nudge nudge).

Mbilu is just that, and this in itself will be a teaser to the actual album whereby the vocals and narrative will be explained which will be release on the 1st of January 2022.

Mbilu was made from the heart for your heart and further dedicate this audible piece of art to my current lifetime Partner.
